As part of our core mission to extend safe and reliable access to cannabinoids to everyone, Medical Marijuana, Inc. has signed onto the Americans for Safe Access (ASA) Unity Conference 2017 as a premier event sponsor. Additionally, several members of the Medical Marijuana, Inc. organization will be speaking on educational panels, and we will be actively lobbying lawmakers in the capital on cannabis reform.
From April 7-11th, medical cannabis industry leaders, medical and legal professionals, cannabis advocates, and patients will gather in Washington, D.C. to discuss common-sense policies and approaches to safe medical cannabis access. With the uncertainty of policies under a new U.S. administration, 2017 will be one of the most important years for medical cannabis policy ever. This high profile event will draw public attention to the topic of cannabis reform in Washington and around the country.
The Unity Conference 2017 is helped made possible by donations like Medical Marijuana, Inc.’s sponsorship. Because the goals of Americans for Safe Access align closely with those of Medical Marijuana, Inc., we are proud to join this important movement.
“We are proud to be on the forefront of innovations in natural, botanical high-cannabidiol (CBD) products that are improving the lives of people worldwide,” said Dr. Stuart Titus, CEO of Medical Marijuana, Inc., the first publicly traded cannabis company in the United States. “Unity 2017 is a fantastic opportunity for industry leaders to exchange ideas and bring attention to the need for and protection of policies that can save lives.”
On Saturday from 11 am to 12:30 pm, Dr. Stuart Titus will be part of a panel titled Exciting Developments in Cannabis Research & Access, during which he will share his expertise and years of hands on experience with the medical use of cannabis. Dr. Titus will share space on a panel that includes a diverse group of scientists who will discuss the use of cannabinoids in their various fields of expertise. Dr. Titus will be on stage alongside some of the biggest names in cannabis research: including Dr. Jeff Raber, founder of the Werc Shop; Dr. Susan Audino, Course Instructor at the American Association for Laboratory Accreditation; Mohammed Mustafa of the Department of Pharmacology & Toxicology, Virginia Commonwealth University; and leading cannabis researcher Ethan Russo, MD.
The next day, Dion Markgraaff will join a panel titled Global Medical Cannabis Policy & Lessons Learned to discuss the latest efforts globally to access medical cannabis with leading reform experts. Dion utilized his experience in the global cannabis industry to help establish HempMeds® Mexico, Medical Marijuana, Inc.’s local distribution branch. Also on the panel are Steph Sherer, Executive Director of Americans for Safe Access; María de los Angeles Lobos, Director of Dianova Chile, Pavel Kubu, MD, Chief Executive Officer of the International Cannabis and Cannabinoids Institute; Dr. Tomas Zabransky, Board Member of the International Cannabis and Cannabinoids Institute; Vicki Hanson, Director of Special Projects/Corporate Planner for the Cannabis Licensing Authority of Jamaica; and finally, Hana Gabrielová, Project Manager for the International Cannabis and Cannabinoids Institute.
Finally, on Monday, Andrew Hard, CEO of Medical Marijuana, Inc.’s PR firm CMW Media, will lend personal experience to CBD-Only States, a workshop session that looks at what comes next in states where CBD and CBD-rich medicine is legal, but not other types of medical cannabis. The panel will examine how CBD laws fit into the bigger picture of medical marijuana legalization.
Additionally, Medical Marijuana, Inc. is hosting a booth at the conference where we can meet face-to-face with conference attendees and fellow advocates and share information about cannabis reform, medical cannabis research, and the barrier to full legalization. Visitors to our booth can also learn about hemp and CBD oil and discover how they fit into the story of cannabis legalization.
Medical Marijuana, Inc. will also join ASA and the conference’s attendees in a lobbying effort on Capitol Hill to meet with and educate lawmakers on the benefits of cannabis and persuade them to take a more compassionate stance on cannabis legalization and regulation.
We hope that you will be able to join us in Washington, D.C. for this important event. The complete five-day conference schedule is available here or read more about Medical Marijuana, Inc. and our portfolio of investment companies on our news feed.
