A pair of families who both gave Real Scientific Hemp Oil™ (RSHO™) to their daughters met for the first time outside Dallas.
The anticipation was palpable at the Howard home in Carrollton, Texas, last Thursday night as they anxiously awaited the Fischer family’s arrival. The two families, whose homes are separated by over 4000 miles, are connected by their use of RSHO™ CBD hemp oil for their daughters.
The Fischer family, living in Brazil, first learned about HempMeds® RSHO™ from the Hope4Harper Facebook page, managed by Penny Howard. However, at that time, it was illegal to import any cannabis-based products into the country, even those derived from hemp.
Determined to provide her daughter Anny with our RSHO™ CBD hemp oil, Katiele Fischer took her case to the Brazilian courts, who ruled in the Fischer family’s favor, making little Anny the first person in Brazil to legally import and use RSHO™. The health authority in Brazil, ANVISA, now subsidizes the use of RSHO™ CBD hemp oil for all qualified individuals.
Film crews and reporters from both the CW 33 Dallas and the Dallas Morning News were on hand to provide video coverage of Thursday’s emotional event for regional broadcast.
The Howard’s eldest daughter, Lily, was the first to greet the Fischers at the door, eager to meet Anny’s older sister, Julia. The two girls share similar backgrounds growing up the sibling in a special needs household.
While Lily and Julia bonded with the help of a translator app on their phones, their parents related emotional stories about their own common experience. Penny, whose daughter Harper passed earlier this year, held little Anny close on her lap, peppering her with kisses. Their one regret remained that Harper wasn’t there to meet her counterpart in Anny.
In the U.S. for the first time, the Fischer’s initial stop on their trip was to meet with the Medical Marijuana, Inc. team at our offices in downtown San Diego. The family then travelled north to participate in the New West Summit in San Francisco before stopping to enjoy themselves at Disneyland.
The Fischers ended their whirlwind trip in Texas, where Penny and Medical Marijuana, Inc. CEO Dr. Stuart Titus were both speaking at the Dallas Money Show, allowing this emotional meeting between the two families to happen. Both the Fischers and the Howards remain vocal advocates for CBD hemp oil after seeing the impact it has had on their families.
