Medical Marijuana, Inc. Congratulates Mexico’s President Nieto for April 21 Speech, Which Came After Permits Issued for RSHO-X™ as First-Ever Cannabis Product Approved for Import Into Mexico
San Diego, CA – April 25, 2016 – Medical Marijuana, Inc. (OTC: MJNA) is proud to announce to shareholders and the public that in an April 22 article entitled Mexican President Reverses Course, Now Supports Medicinal Marijuana, CNSNews.com reported that the Company’s Real Scientific Hemp Oil-X™ (RSHO-X™) product is the first-ever cannabis product (high concentration natural botanical hemp-based cannabidiol (CBD) without THC) approved by federal authorities for import into Mexico, into what projects to be a “$10-12 billion” future cannabis market.
According to the CNSNews.com report, “The U.S. company Medical Marijuana Inc. received permission from Mexican authorities on Feb. 1 to export to Mexico one of its products used to treat epilepsy in children. The product doesn’t contain the psychoactive ingredient THC, according to the company’s CEO, Stuart Titus.”
“Titus predicted the market for medical marijuana products in Mexico could be as large as $10-12 billion annually,” the report continues. This would mirror the best industry estimates for the true size of the California medicinal marijuana marketplace – which has been estimated at $10 – $12 billion.
As first reported by Mexico’s health agency COFEPRIS and Reuters News Agency, families in Mexico are now able to import HempMeds® THC-free CBD hemp oil (RSHO-X™) with a government- issued permit. The decision by COFEPRIS and the historic April 21 speech from Mexico’s President Enrique Peña Nieto came after Medical Marijuana, Inc.‘s HempMeds® sponsored and participated with Raul Elizalde and the Por Grace Foundation in multiple public forums including the National Debates on Marijuana Use advocating for medical cannabis access in Mexico.
“The Washington Post has reported that the historic shift by Mexican President Nieto to support research and access to medical cannabis for the people of Mexico has furthered the movement to legalize medical marijuana throughout the Americas, building on the momentum from Canadian and
U.S. legal marijuana State initiatives,” states Dr. Stuart Titus, Chief Executive Officer of Medical Marijuana, Inc. “Medical Marijuana, Inc. is very grateful to our hard-working team that has worked day-and-night to try to help affect global change and help the world change their view of cannabis in terms of medicinal application.”
“We are very proud and grateful to have worked with Raul Elizalde and the Por Grace Foundation as our premier charitable partner in Mexico. We’re honored to have welcomed his family into ours,” Titus continues. “Medical Marijuana, Inc. also congratulates Mexican President Nieto for inviting Elizalde, the father of little Grace, to speak alongside him at his April 21 speech. It was an extremely touching moment and a moment of historic importance, signifying the true end of the failed ‘War on Drugs’. We look forward to doing our very best to continue to help the people of Mexico to achieve access to all cannabinoids and cannabinoid products that may further their health and wellness.”
