The Brazilian government, until recently, viewed anything made from cannabis \u2013 including non-psychoactive\u00a0hemp \u2013 as illegal and, therefore, a controlled substance. The US has allowed hemp based products \u2013 hemp\u00a0seed, hemp oil and hemp protein powder since the late 1990\u2019s and a federal court ruling upheld this allowance\u00a0of hemp nutritional products.<\/p>\n

After hearing the testimony of the Fischer family and their daughter Anny\u2019s need for RSHO, however, a\u00a0Brazilian Federal Judge deemed it \u201cinhumane\u201d to keep it (RSHO hemp oil) from the little girl \u2013 as it was helping\u00a0to alleviate the potentially fatal condition when no pharmaceutical medications were working . Then, after a\u00a0series of historic rulings, ANVISA removed CBD from Brazil\u2019s prohibited substance use<\/a> list, removed the import\u00a0tax<\/a> and is actively subsidizing the cost for those who need financial assistance.<\/p>\n
