San Diego, CA \u2013 Sept, 30 2016<\/b> \u2013 Renowned Mexico physician Dr. Carlos G. Aguirre Velazquez today announced results of a new survey he conducted on children with refractory epilepsy, which found that out of 53 cases of children who were treated with cannabidiol (CBD) hemp oil, 60 percent showed a reduction in seizures.<\/span><\/p>\n

The product most commonly used in the survey was the only current legal option in Mexico, <\/span>Medical Marijuana, Inc.<\/span><\/a> (OTC: MJNA)\u2019s <\/span>Real Scientific Hemp Oil-X\u2122<\/span><\/a> (<\/span>RSHO-X\u2122)<\/span><\/a>, developed by <\/span>HempMeds<\/span><\/a>, the first company in Mexico with a COFEPRIS approval to import cannabis products.<\/span><\/p>\n

The study, conducted by Professor of Pediatric Neurology at the Monterrey Institute of Techhas\u2019 School of Medicine Dr. Velazquez, also reported that in seizure crises treated with CBD hemp oil, 16 percent were completely controlled, and 51 percent improved in either a moderately to an important way.<\/p>\n

The survey was submitted to parents of the “Por Grace Foundation\u201d Facebook Group, chaired by Raul Elizalde, father of the first patient treated with cannabis products in Mexico. The participation was voluntary and the criteria were: 1) a diagnosis of refractory epilepsy such as Lennox-Gastaut Syndrome, Dravet, Doose or other causes, and 2) the current use of medicinal cannabis (pure CBD or combined in different presentations).<\/p>\n

Results from the study will be presented to other doctors across Mexico on September 30 as part of an ongoing effort inside the country to inform health professionals on the therapeutic uses of cannabis.<\/p>\n
