SAN DIEGO<\/span>,\u00a0Aug. 3, 2017<\/span>\u00a0— Medical Marijuana, Inc. (OTC: MJNA), the first publicly traded cannabis company in\u00a0the United States<\/span>, today announced that its major investment company\u00a0AXIM Biotechnologies, Inc.<\/a>\u00a0(AXIM Biotech) (OTC: AXIM) has entered into a Clinical Study Agreement (CSA) with the\u00a0University of British Columbia<\/span>\u00a0in\u00a0Canada<\/span>\u00a0to begin a clinical trial with its CanChew Plus\u00ae cannabidiol (CBD) chewing gum product to treat drug-induced psychosis in adult patients.<\/p>\n

The University will work with Health Canada and their own ethics board to design the trial, which will be conducted at the\u00a0University of British Columbia<\/span>, Canada, and will demonstrate the efficacy of AXIM’s chewing gum product composed of 50mg CBD to treat drug-related psychosis.<\/p>\n

Drug-related psychosis, also known as substance-induced psychotic disorder, is any psychotic episode that is related to the abuse of an intoxicant. According to the National Alliance on Mental Illness, about 3 in every 100 people will experience at least one episode of psychosis in their lifetimes.<\/p>\n
