[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Medical Marijuana, Inc. portfolio company and its flagship brand RSHO™ were featured in recent Telemundo piece about government’s purchase of CBD oil.

[/vc_column_text][vc_video link=”https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fsxobkBJqZU&feature=youtu.be”][vc_column_text]HempMeds® Mexico made headlines across Latin America last month when its products were purchased by the government of Mexico for 11 patients there, making Real Scientific Hemp Oil™ the first product ever to be subsidized by the Mexican government.

The announcement was first made at the opening of a new clinic located in the city of Ecatepec on August 17, 2017. Eruviel Avila, the State of Mexico’s governor, distributed the RSHO-X™products purchased by the state to the 11 patients. The event, including the distribution of the products, was covered prominently in national and international media for weeks after the event.

As part of their recent coverage, Telemundo visited the Medical Marijuana, Inc. offices in downtown San Diego to speak with Jose Garcia Prieto, a representative of HempMeds® Mexico, who explained to the station’s viewers what CBD is and how it can be used to help treat epilepsy, as well as a number of other medical conditions.

In Mexico, CBD oil products, like those from HempMeds® Mexico, are available as medications, requiring a doctor’s prescription and authorization from the health authority in Mexico. Cofepris first authorized special import certificates on February 2, 2016, following months of pressure by citizens in Mexico and a groundbreaking court case. This led to THC-free RSHO-X™ becoming the first cannabis-based products to be accepted for use by the Mexican government. The approval of THC-free products in Mexico was the first step towards Mexico’s legalization of medical cannabis this summer.
