The three chatted about that night\u2019s upcoming NFL game and briefly reminisced about Lowery\u2019s playing days. Lowery, a former three time NFL Pro-Bowl and Kansas City Chiefs placekicker, shared stories of the challenges he faced coming in as a kicker to Denver\u2019s Mile High Stadium.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The three soon got into the work that Medical Marijuana, Inc. subsidiary Kannalife\u2122 Sciences is doing around concussion treatments. The bio-pharmaceutical and phyto-medical company is currently conducting research and development for a hemp-based cannabidiol (<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/medicalmarijuanainc.com\/what-is-cbd-oil\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">CBD<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">) therapeutic agent designed for CTE. CTE, a degenerative neurological disease caused by repeated head trauma, has been found to be prevalent in former NFL players.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Lowery went on to briefly share the medical evidence out of<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pubmed\/25264643\"> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">UCLA Medical Center Torrance<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/news.medicalmarijuanainc.com\/cannabis-effective-alzheimers-disease-new-study-finds\/\"> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Salk Institute<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> that indicates that cannabinoids like CBD go a long way to rebuilding neural tissue, and that they may provide neuroprotective effects that reduce the long-term oxidative damage on brain cells.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Lowery explained that Kannalife\u2122 holds exclusive licenses from the federal government to commercialize a cannabinoid patent currently held by the U.S. Government and National Institutes of Health (NIH).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Clearly passionate about finding a therapeutic solution for CTE, Lowery shared that his former teammate, Steelers Hall of Fame center Mike Webster, was the first ever NFL player diagnosed with the degenerative brain disease.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">After Jackson voiced frustration over the NFL\u2019s lack of funding into<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/medicalmarijuanainc.com\/\"> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">medical cannabis<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, Lowery pointed out that the NFL is doing a lot more than they ever have.
