{"id":1987,"date":"2018-03-29T12:18:53","date_gmt":"2018-03-29T12:18:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.medicalmarijuanainc.com\/?p=35502"},"modified":"2018-03-29T12:18:53","modified_gmt":"2018-03-29T12:18:53","slug":"hempmeds-brasil-completes-successful-educational-tour-will-provide-cbd-university-study","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/medicalmarijuanainc.com\/2018\/03\/29\/hempmeds-brasil-completes-successful-educational-tour-will-provide-cbd-university-study\/","title":{"rendered":"HempMeds\u00ae Brasil Completes Successful Educational Tour, Will Provide CBD for University Study"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Medical Marijuana, Inc. subsidiary HempMeds\u00ae Brasil recently completed a three date educational tour of Southern Brazil. <\/span><\/i><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Earlier this month, HempMeds\u00ae Brasil successfully hosted a trio of cannabis symposiums in the Rio Grande do Sul region of Brazil from March 19-23 and was held in the cities of Canoas, Passo Fundo, and Porto Alegre.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The event was put on in conjunction with the <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/anuc.com.br\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">National Association of Users of Cannabidiol<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (ANUC), an organization in Brazil made up of patients and their families with the mission of supporting those in Brazil in need of <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/medicalmarijuanainc.com\/what-is-cbd-oil\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">CBD<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, including legal guidelines, assistance finding doctors, and even financial support.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Educational Events<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The goal behind these events was to share scientific information about CBD with practicing doctors, to strengthen ties with the medical community in Brazil, and to disperse an understanding of the benefits of <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/medicalmarijuanainc.com\/what-is-cbd-oil\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">CBD<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to Brazil\u2019s population through the country\u2019s medical community. The three day educational tour stopped at hospitals and universities in the region to share this critical information with the medical communities in Brazil. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">News of the successful events and the planned study was found in international media outlets, including the following:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/gauchazh.clicrbs.com.br\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ga\u00fachaZH<\/span><\/a><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/g1.globo.com\/rs\/rio-grande-do-sul\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Globo<\/span><\/a><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.smokebuddies.com.br\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">SmokeBuddies<\/span><\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Experts and CBD pioneers from Brazil\u2019s medical community spoke at the three events, including pediatric neurologist Dr. Luiz Fernando Fonseca; Dr. Alan Fr\u00f6hlich, neurologist of the Service of Neurology and Neurosurgery; Dr. Daniel Lima Varela, Professor of Neurology at IMED and Coordinator at the Outpatient Clinic Hospital in S\u00e3o Vicente de Paulo; and Dr. Pablo Winckler, neurologist and specialist in diabetic neuropathy.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Dr. Stuart Titus, CEO of Medical Marijuana, Inc., also spoke at each of these events as a representative for the Medical Marijuana, Inc. family of companies. He shared his experience and extensive knowledge about the physiological role and benefits of CBD and discussed upcoming potential research opportunities in Brazil and the importance of clinical research in order to better understand CBD\u2019s potential. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-35504 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.medicalmarijuanainc.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/2018-03-20-PHOTO-00000002.jpg\" alt=\"cbd in healthcare\" width=\"1200\" height=\"500\" \/><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Research Opportunities<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">During the tour, the Lutheran University of Brazil announced that it has taken steps to begin research to evaluate the use of CBD in patients with Parkinson\u2019s disease. The announcement was made during the event on Monday evening, March 19th, at the Lutheran University of Brazil in Canoas.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The research will be completed in partnership with Dr. Kelson James Almeida, noted neurologist and current technical director of the university\u2019s Integrated Rehabilitation Center. The clinical study is currently awaiting approval by the university\u2019s college ethics committee. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If approved, the study will involve 120 patients with Parkinson&#8217;s disease in several Brazilian states.
