However, a lot has changed in a short amount of time, as people in the United States are beginning to embrace the possible benefits of marijuana. In fact,\u00a0<\/span>six in 10 Americans back full marijuana legalization.<\/a>\u00a0<\/span>Today, 47 states, as well as Washington, D.C., have legalized marijuana in one form or another.<\/p>\n With the rapid rise in the popularity of marijuana, many people are asking where is medical marijuana legal and where is recreational marijuana legal? Under that federal statute, marijuana and its intoxicating compound THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) are classified as Schedule I substances.
