The CBD Hemp Oil Movement – and Medical Marijuana, Inc.’s place in it.

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Since 2012, Mediccal Marijuana, Inc. has been recognized as an industry leader in the CBD hemp oil space. As the first company in the world to develop nationally legal CBD hemp oil products, Medical Marijuana, Inc. pioneered the path forward in the burgeoning hemp oil industry.

When Medical Marijuana, Inc. first created our global CBD hemp oil pipeline, we were only looking to provide safe, reliable cannabinoids to those in need around the world. In the process, we became a Company of Firsts™, innovating the techniques and processes that have come to lead the CBD hemp oil market.

Dr. Sanjay Gupta originally made CBD a household term when he first discussed it on his CNN special Weed. This media special was followed by others, and soon, people across the U.S. and internationally began looking for sources of CBD to add this important cannabinoid to their systems to harness its benefits. Since then, the market for CBD products has blossomed, creating a demand for daily use CBD products like those distributed by Medical Marijuana, Inc. subsidiaries Kannaway® and HempMeds®.

Some patients in the U.S. were able to turn to medical marijuana products high in CBD to gain this important cannabinoid. However, there are many limitations to medical marijuana in the U.S., including a patchwork system of medical marijuana states and regulations on use that keep medical marijuana on the fringes and out of the hands of many in need of cannabinoids.

To bridge this gap, Medical Marijuana, Inc. took on the mission of providing cannabinoids, both safely and legally, to as many people as possible – worldwide. In order to do this, Medical Marijuana, Inc. created the first global CBD pipeline, growing our non-GMO hemp in Northern Europe before shipping it to the U.S. where it is manufactured into our line of CBD hemp oil products and shipped to all 50 states domestically and to over 40 countries internationally.

Recognizing the need for a national cannabinoid market to provide access to cannabinoids to as many people as possible, despite the legal challenges, Medical Marijuana, Inc. began researching ways to bring cannabis-based products to a wider customer base. With federal prohibition and sporadic state laws keeping medical and recreational marijuana from much of the country, Medical Marijuana, Inc. looked for an alternative source of cannabinoids and found hemp. CBD products created from hemp were a new idea, and we set about creating the industry and making CBD available to a new set of consumers. Using our cannabinoid hemp oil pipeline, Medical Marijuana, Inc. was able to create a safe and reliable source of hemp to sustain the newly developed CBD hemp oil market with the launch of the Dixie Botanicals® and Real Scientific Hemp Oil™ brands.

Standardizing Quality in the Hemp Oil Industry

Demanding safety and consistency, Medical Marijuana, Inc. was the first cannabis company to create strict quality standards through our first of its kind Triple Lab Tested® process. In addition to establishing optimal cannabinoid content of our hemp oil, lab testing ensures there are no potential contaminants that could end up in our products. Samples from each batch of products are sent to ISO/IEC 17025:2005 accredited testing labs to test our hemp oil for the concentration of cannabinoids, including CBD, CBDa, CBG, THC, and over a half dozen others. The labs also tests for mold, mildew, fungus, yeast, E.coli, Salmonella, Mycotoxins, heavy metals, and residual solvents to protect our customers from any contamination. These industry leading quality control measures ensure that only the safest and most reliable CBD hemp oil products make it out of our warehouse and on its way to you and your family.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”17298″ img_size=”1200×250″ onclick=”custom_link” link=”https://www.medicalmarijuanainc.com/why-do-we-refer-to-hemp-as-industrial-hemp/”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]

Expanding Our Brands Internationally

Medical Marijuana, Inc.’s Real Scientific Hemp Oil™ (RSHO™) was the first hemp oil product to be approved for import and use in Brazil. With the authorization of RSHO™, Brazil became the first Latin American country to approve prescriptions for a medical cannabis product.

HempMeds® Brasil now works with thousands of families to help them legally get access to RSHO™. The company is also working hard to educate the medical community and regulatory agencies to make the process for obtaining cannabis products like RSHO™ easier. Recently, the government in Brazil updated their policy to fully subsidize any purchase of RSHO™ under their healthcare system, further increasing the ability of Brazilian patients to receive RSHO™.

Similarly, a version of traditional CBD oil with no detectable THC, Medical Marijuana, Inc.’s RSHO-X™, was the first hemp oil product accepted into Mexico when it was approved as a prescription medication in the country early in 2016.

Although Mexico started to approve the use of CBD for patients with a doctor’s prescription, the government remained staunchly opposed to products with even trace amounts of THC in them. In order to import our CBD hemp oil to Mexico, we had to develop a product with no detectable THC. Medical Marijuana, Inc. was able to achieve this by isolating the CBD within our hemp oil, thus eliminating the trace amounts of THC in our oil to make RSHO-X™. HempMeds® Mexico supports patients as they maneuver through the process of approval for RSHO-X™ by discussing it step by step and including the necessary means for patients to move forward.

Along with these newly developed markets, Medical Marijuana, Inc. is in the process of exploring other potential markets for CBD hemp oil products around the world.

Developing Pharmaceuticals to Fight Opioid Addiction

AXIM® Biotechnologies is exploring how a functional chewing gum containing opioid agonists and antagonists and cannabinoids in an optimal balance can be used to decrease cravings and reduce withdrawal symptoms in patients suffering addiction or dependence to opioids and possibly even lower our reliance on opioids as effective painkillers.

The news of AXIM®’s recent patent filing and the company’s intention to apply to the FDA this year to begin human trials has already been featured in articles from media outlets like Reuters and CNBC. In the wake of America’s historic opioid crisis, developments like this out of AXIM® Biotechnologies to find a cure for painkiller and heroin addiction are welcome.

Studies indicate that cannabis could help solve the opioid crisis. Cannabis shows efficacy for pain management yet, according to the DEA, has never caused a fatal overdose, making it a safe alternative in light of opioids. Nearly all of the 28 states that have passed comprehensive medical marijuana laws allow cannabis to be recommended for the treatment of pain, and they have seen their rates of opioid overdose deaths decrease as a result.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”17843″ img_size=”1200×250″ onclick=”custom_link” link=”https://www.medicalmarijuanainc.com/researchers-encourage-doctors-to-choose-cannabis-instead-of-opioids/”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Findings in a study published in Journal of Pain Research indicate that individuals are already using cannabis to replace prescription drugs. Nearly half of respondents reported using cannabis in place of prescription medications – using cannabis in place of pain-relieving narcotics and opioids at the highest rate.

Currently, two-thirds of Americans believe opioid prescription drugs like Vicodin and OxyContin are “riskier” to use than cannabis for pain management. According to a poll by Yahoo News and The Marist Poll, only one in five Americans polled consider cannabis to be riskier than opioids, while the remaining 13 percent responded that they were unsure.

With both public opinion and medical evidence shifting against opioid-based medications, Americans are turning to cannabinoids as both a treatment option both for pain and for addiction.

AXIM® Biotechnologies is also developing cannabis-based medications for difficult to treat conditions like irritable bowel syndrome and multiple sclerosis. The company is currently running clinical trials with the goal of government approval as a new drug.
